I’m the first to admit that I loathe all things biscuit. My husband and kids, however, love biscuity breads. So I (with the help of my 2 little chefs) made these thinking that I’d hate them.
But ya know what?
They’re really good. Slightly reminiscent of Red Lobster’s cheddar biscuits, they’re light and flaky and fully of cheesy goodness.
Ingredients:
2C flour
3tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/2tsp garlic powder
1/3C butter/margarine cold, cut into chunks
2TBSP olive oil
1 heaping C shredded cheddar cheese
1/3 C milk
Directions:
1.Preheat oven to 400* F
2. Add all ingredients to a large mixing bowl (I used my kitchen aid mixer)
3. Mix together until lumpy and semi-sticky
4. Roll into 4″ balls
5. Place on greased baking sheet and bake for 15-17 minutes, or until golden brown
6. Brush 2TBSP melted butter and 1/2tsp dried basil on top of hot biscuits
7. ENJOY!

You are clearly not from the South! I love love love all things biscuit related! I actually had a biscuit for breakfast.
LOL it’s funny you say that because I was actually born in the SouthWest (New Mexico) but the love of most southern foods (shrimp dishes, biscuits, fried things) just doesn’t run in me. Guess growing up in the mid-atlantic/north-ish (depends on who you ask) ruined those things for me :-p
